13 lbs Shellbark Hickory Nuts - 2022 crop picked up on Oct 30th 2022.  Know also as the king it since this is the largest hickory nut.
Shellbark hickory is considered rare with wood overused and valued by early pioneers.  Happy to offer affordable seed to help increase the population in the US.  These trees like fertile soil with lots of rainfall and naturally grow in the floodplain.  Slow growing hard wood and beautiful tree.
These were picked up in Illinois - Kaskaskia river bottoms near Carlyle IL.  Native and natural 100+ year old trees.  Nuts have the outer hull removed.  Shellbark hickory are the largest hickory nuts see pictures for size.  Squirrels love them.  Beautiful trees and leaves with valuable logs.

All nuts were visually inspected for weevil holes. Since these trees are not sprayed with insecticide, it is possible that a weevil will emerge.  We find less than 1 in 1000 nuts with weevil damage during inspecting, You will receive extra nuts to supplement.
Excellent seed for planting or if you have a way to crack them (hammer) they are absolutely delicious to eat - but you have to work to crack them open.
